Your engagement session is about so much more than having beautiful photos before the wedding.
It gives us a chance to get to know each other without the timeline, guests, and energy of a wedding day around us. You’ll learn how I guide you, how to move and interact naturally in front of the camera, and most importantly, you’ll have the space to get comfortable with the whole experience.
It also gives me the chance to learn you—how the two of you naturally connect, how much direction feels good, what makes you laugh, what feels natural and what doesn’t.
Afterward, I want your feedback. Tell me which photographs felt the most like you, which ones didn’t, and why. That helps me understand what you see in yourselves so I can photograph your wedding in a way that feels personal to you, rather than approaching every couple the same way.
So when the wedding day arrives, we’re not starting from scratch. You already know me, you know what it feels like to be in front of my camera, and I know how to photograph the two of you. You get to stop thinking about the camera and be present for your day.

You’re in very good company. Most of my couples tell me they feel awkward or nervous in front of the camera. You don’t need to arrive knowing what to do—that’s my job.
Before we ever photograph together, I’ll get to know you through a questionnaire—what makes you laugh, how you naturally connect, what you love about yourselves and each other, and anything you may feel self-conscious about. It helps me understand how to make the experience feel comfortable and personal to you.
When we’re together, I’ll guide you when you need it and give you space when you don’t. We’ll talk, move, laugh, and let things unfold naturally. If something needs adjusting, I’ll take care of it—you don’t need to wonder what to do with your hands or whether something looks good.
My goal isn’t to make you good at being photographed. It’s to make you comfortable enough that you stop thinking about being photographed at all.

For engagement sessions, we have flexibility. If rain is in the forecast, we’ll reschedule. If it’s simply looking cloudy or overcast, I’ll give you the choice: we can embrace the softer, moodier light or reschedule if your heart is set on that warm, glowy look.
Wedding days are different—we embrace whatever the day gives us. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast, adjust our plans when needed, look for pockets of beautiful light, and make the most of the weather rather than letting it take over your day.

I know how hard it is to wait to see your photos. Your engagement session gallery will be delivered within three weeks, and your complete wedding gallery within ten weeks of your wedding day.
Every image is carefully selected, edited, and finished before it makes its way to you. Your final photographs will be delivered in a beautiful online gallery where you can download, share, and relive it all whenever you’d like.
And because I know weeks can feel like forever, you’ll receive a little preview from both your engagement session and wedding within a few days.

It's rare that writing a review can bring tears to your eyes, but that's how great working with Sarah was. I don't even know where to start. Her photos speak for themselves.
